Strategy Muse began with a question, not a business plan
What would consulting look like if the work didn’t come at the expense of people? That question took shape over time through the experience of our founder, Morgan Marzec.
How we work shapes what we create
After years working inside traditional consulting environments, Morgan watched smart, committed people do extraordinary work inside a system that made it harder than it needed to be. Clients were promised transformation, yet often received exhausted teams, recycled frameworks, and work that looked good on paper but struggled to take hold in real life. Consultants gave everything they had, at a pace no one could sustain, leaving little room for reflection, creativity, or being human.
Project after project, the same pattern emerged. The same pressures. The same tradeoffs. The same toll—on people and on the quality of the work itself. It wasn’t about a few bad moments or demanding assignments. The way the work was structured was shaping everything that followed.
It wasn’t the people failing the work. It was the system surrounding them.
Rather than accepting that as the price of ambition, Morgan began to look more closely at the relationship between how work is done and what it produces. If the model wasn’t designed to support people doing the work, it would never support the kind of change clients were actually trying to achieve. In 2016, she founded Strategy Muse to test a different approach, one designed to work better for clients and consultants alike.
From the beginning, the firm was built around a simple idea: when experienced people are supported and grounded, the work is better. Clients don’t need more slides or borrowed frameworks. They need partners who understand the reality of leading change, can translate complexity into clarity, and stay with the work long enough to make it real.
Strategy Muse operates as a consulting co-op, assembling small, seasoned teams who have worked inside organizations and know how to turn strategy into action. This model allows us to stay close to the work, adapt as needed, and partner with clients in ways traditional consulting models can’t.
At the heart of Strategy Muse is a belief that continues to guide the firm: how we work shapes what we create. By putting sustainability, trust, and real partnership at the center of the model, Strategy Muse helps organizations navigate change with greater clarity, momentum, and integrity—while building ways of working that people can actually live with.
