Alison Ohlhoff pays attention to the stories organizations tell. The version in the press release. The one on the intranet. The one employees actually share in the cafeteria.

When those stories don’t line up, people notice.

Alison helps organizations close that gap.

She’s a communications strategist with a knack for finding the human story inside complex, technical work and making it something people can understand, connect to, and share. Her work is grounded in a simple idea: if employees don’t see themselves in the story, it doesn’t travel very far.

Over the course of her career, Alison has helped build and lead internal communications for organizations including Clorox, PepsiCo, Hyatt, AkzoNobel, Chicago Public Media and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals—creating the right mix of channels, content, and approaches that keep employees connected to what matters. She’s worked across industries and audiences, from corporate offices to production floors, and knows how to shape communications that reach people where they are, with messages that resonate.

At Strategy Muse, Alison works as part of a global biotech company’s Corporate Affairs team, steering a “mixternal” strategy that helps the organization tell a more cohesive story across internal and external audiences. She has led the redesign of the company’s intranet and digital storytelling platforms, creating a more connected approach where employees aren’t just informed—they’re equipped to share and carry the story forward. Her work helps ensure audiences hear a consistent, authentic narrative tailored to their respective needs.

Raised Minnesota nice in Minneapolis and now raising four kids of her own in Chicago, she knows how to ensure everyone has a seat at the table and their voices are heard.
