Holly Mattson has spent most of her career inside the work.

Not only advising it.

For 16 years, she led internal communications at Commonwealth Financial Network, building the function from the ground up and shaping how the company connected with its people. She worked side by side with leaders across HR and Marketing, helping them communicate clearly, consistently, and in ways employees actually paid attention to.

That experience still influences how she works now.

Holly believes internal communication isn’t just about sharing information—it’s about helping people understand where they fit, how it connects to the bigger picture, and why their work matters. When that’s clear, everything else starts to move.

At Strategy Muse, Holly has been working with a leading biotech company’s R&D organization, helping connect the culture of the organization to the success of its science. Her work has focused on making communication more relevant, more consistent, and easier to engage with, resulting in significant improvements in employee engagement and satisfaction.
